Meet the cast of Bad Ideas for Bad Television- Lane Hunter

Live arts theatre is proud to present Lane Hunter to our audiences! While new to stage acting, he is a seasoned performer and it shows.  Lane studied percussion performance, music education, French, and language and linguistics at KSU and graduated Summer 2017. His degree is officially a BS in Integrative Studies. Lane has been a professional performing musician for seven years now, builds pipe organs, and occasionally works as a substitute teacher.

While Lane has always been drawn to acting he has never had an opportunity because of the time commitment to band. After playing in the pit for Fiorello, he finally saw the opportunity to jump into the world of theater.  Lane is an ensemble member in the show Bad Ideas for Bad Television Shows.  Please enjoy the rest of our conversation with Lane Hunter:

Q: Is this your first show at Live Arts, and what other shows have you done with us?

A: This is my first time acting played percussion for Fiorello.

Q: What attracted you to audition for Bad Ideas for Bad Television Shows? I love comedy and wanted a place to “get my feet wet” in a sense, and Michael told me about this show. It seemed like the perfect opportunity

Q: Name two FUNNY facts about you:

A: 1. I have the most vocal cat you will ever meet. She is constantly yelling about nothing. She doesn’t even want anything, she’s just yelling nonsensically. She’s 14. There’s no hope of it stopping.
2. All the fans and the thermostat in my childhood home were from the brand Hunter. I subsequently thought everyone’s fans and thermostats had their last names on them until I was a teenager.

Q: What is your dream comedic role?

A: This is a loaded question and one I’ve never considered before this moment… I am torn between saying I’d like to play someone very similar to myself, or saying I’d like to play someone as far from my own personality as possible.

Q: What comedic play would you most like to be in? uh…

A: uh…

Q: What makes Bad Ideas for Bad Television Shows different from other shows you have done? A: …. uh….

A: …. uh….

Q: Bad Ideas for Bad Television Shows is best described as a zany satirical show. What is the most zany performance you have ever done up to now?

A: Currently 30 Rock, SNL, Portlandia, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. This is subject to change.

Q: What is the worst TV show you have ever seen and why?
