Move with us! This fun, 30-45 minute workshop, uses movement to explore concepts such as rhythm, spatial awareness, and tempo. We will use non-contact movement to exercise our bodies and imaginations while creating characters and animals.  A great first introduction to movement and theatre, this workshop can be customized to meet your learning standards and curriculum goals.

Finding your voice – grades 2+

The voice is a tool that every actor and professional must use. This 1 hour workshop teaches students the basics of healthy vocalization when speaking and singing. Students will learn volume control and the basics of articulation through group warm up exercises, songs, and fun theatre games

Improvisation – grades 3+

Improv is for everyone! This fun 30-60 minute workshop will really get your students creative juices flowing! Based on the work of Viola Spolin, students will be introduced to the concept of “yes…and”, using concepts and ideas to build characters and scenes while playing improvisational theatre games. This workshop can be customized to fit your learning standards and curriculum goals.

Working together as a team is a skill everyone must master for success, and this 60 minute workshop takes it right down to basics. Through cooperative theatre games, your students will work together as a group while learning listening skills and building on ideas given by their peers. This workshop can be customized to fit your learning standards and curriculum goals.

Curriculum support- Making a play!

(Total program consists of 5 sessions, a minimum of one week is needed for the complete program.)

Give your students a week they won’t forget while teaching a concept of your choice! Our teaching artists will lead your students through the process of creating a play based on the content of your curriculum. Students will write the play, rehearse, and then perform their production on the last day of the workshop! This workshop can be customized to meet the needs of your learning standards, curriculum and program goals.

Public speaking- grades 5+

Hear ye, hear ye! Take your students on a journey into the important word of public speaking as they develop their confidence and communication skills. Students will learn the importance of preparation, poise and projection while preparing monologue or speeches to share with their classmates. This workshop can be customized and adjusted in length to meet the needs of your learning standards, curriculum and program goals.

Ben Franklin- All grade levels

Spend an hour or a whole day with Ben and Mrs.Franklin. Certified teacher Bill Pacer and LaDonna Allison present a 45 minute show detailing the life and times of the great historical figure. After the presentation, students will have the opportunity to interact with Ben and Mrs.Franklin in a talk back session.

History track- Students can ask Ben and Mrs.Franklin questions about their lifetime, accomplishments, and contributions to American history.

Theatre track- after the show, Bill and LaDonna break character to talk with your students regarding the process of creating a role like Ben and Mrs.Franklin. Topics explored include the connections between role preparation and history, marketing of a show and language arts, and the logistics of presenting a solo show to connect math and finance.
