February Readings 2020: Georgia Playwrights

February is project month at Live Arts! This year, we are featuring the work of the members of our Directing Intensive, presenting the work of Georgia Playwrights!

Join us for staged readings of plays, all written by Georgia Playwrights. We will be reading each play on a different evening in February 2020, followed by a talkback session focusing on  the themes presented in the play.

Image: Show logo for February Reading Series 2020. A oink background, with a light blue rectangle at the bottom center. Printed on the rectangle in white lettering is February Reading Series 2020, with Georgia Playwrights printed at an angle in yellow cursive font below it. The black and white headshots of the playwrights surround the rectangle on all sides.

Note each reading is on a different date. Please check dates carefully, as tickets are non-refundable.

Scott Piehler
Guest director

Scott is no stranger to LAT audiences, most recently being seen as newscaster Gaius Cicereius in “Titus Andronicus.” “Acid Tongue” is Scott’s first full-length play as playwright. His one-act show “Led” was produced at McKendree United Methodist Church in 2011, and again at Providence Christian Academy in 2013. “Acid Tongue” is a very different direction for Scott, who is usually known for lighter, upbeat fare. Why a play set in a radio station? Scott spent many years behind a microphone on the air in NH and MA. If nothing else, Scott hopes “Acid Tongue” makes you think, and sparks some discussion.
