Synopsis:

Set in the wilds of suburban New Jersey, KIMBERLY AKIMBO is a hilarious and heartrending play about a teenager with a rare condition causing her body to age faster than it should. When she and her family flee Secaucus under dubious circumstances, Kimberly is forced to reevaluate her life while contending with a hypochondriac mother, a rarely sober father, a scam-artist aunt, her own mortality and, most terrifying of all, the possibility of first love.

Pay attention to: Kimberly is a 16-year-old girl played by a woman in her 60s-70s. Patti is pregnant for the entire show and has hands in bandages due to carpal tunnel surgery. She is fed food and has her leg in a cast later on in the show and uses crutches. The show contains frequent profanity.

Production Notes: The show takes place in multiple locations. Should not stop the flow of time. A character drags a mailbox through the house. There is a light that spins and reflects animals around the room. A tape recorder is used and the majority of the characters record something onto it. Dungeons and Dragons is played (Module screen, dice, character sheets, books, etc.).
