As we celebrate lots of new things on the Live Arts Theatre horizon, we are highlighting various people who make up the village we like to call the Live Arts Theatre family. This series will focus on the many actors, directors, techies, stage hands, members, and even our regular theatre-goers who make Live Arts Theatre great.
Our next profile is Jacob Christner.
Please introduce yourself:
My name is Jacob Christner and I’ve been an actor and writer, on and off, for 15 years. Been in about 15-20 movies, 5 theatre productions, and produced a couple of my own projects.
How long have you been involved in theatre?
I’d say a total of 4-5 years. I have been mostly around the film world, but I am looking to get much more involved in theatre in my second time around.
What brought you to Live Arts?
In my five theatre productions, four of the theatre houses closed down (only one still open is Act1). I had been to a couple of their dinners and events with another Live Arts member (Teresa Sanson). I noticed that Becca and Michael have an eye of the tiger to stay in business in a lot of near impossible situations, including this current one, and I admire that grit and work ethic. I recently put in my dues, then wrote my first monologue for Becca. I look forward to staying involved with LAT over the long term.
What do you love about Live Arts?
They think outside the box. Tony awards nights, monologue contests, a variety of streaming things on Facebook. They are always trying something new, and that is how my personality works. If they are always trying new things, then they are open for new ideas, which is the essence of any art.
What are you looking forward to?
Helping take LAT to the next level.
