Meet Our Village: Liam Davridge

As we celebrate lots of new things on the Live Arts Theatre horizon, we are highlighting various people who make up the village we like to call the Live Arts Theatre family. This series will focus on the many actors, directors, techies, stage hands, members, and even our regular theatre-goers who make Live Arts Theatre great.

Our next profile is Liam Davridge.

Please introduce yourself:

My name is Liam. I’m an interior designer specializing in kitchen & bath remodels. However, at the moment, I’m working as a barista at Starbucks and an Uber driver among other small odd jobs when I can find them.

What brought you to Live Arts?

I’ve been involved with Live Arts for a little over 2 years. My first project was set designer for Fiorello and I ran crew for that show as well. The following year I took part in the stage manager intensive program which gave me the opportunity to learn tech and be stage manager for a few shows. I also enjoy helping build/paint sets and helping with props, pretty much anything behind the scenes.

What is your favorite Live Arts show that you’ve worked on/seen? And Why?

I’ve thought about this question quite a bit, but I have to say Evelyn in Purgatory. It was the 1st show in which I was the stage manager, in so completing my season of the stage manager intensive and launching me into many more opportunities. It was also just a great show in general with an awesome cast developing into some great friendships.

What do you love about Live Arts?

I love that Live Arts is such a loving community and open to all, no matter race, religion, gender identity, or theater experience. A person who has never worked in theater or acting before could be working next to a seasoned veteran in the industry. It’s a place to grow, both from a personal and professional aspect, with a fair mix of tears, laughter, and love thrown in for good measure.

What are you looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to getting back into the theater, finding out what show I may be asked to stage manage next, and working on the next set. But most of all, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again and the shenanigans that will ensue.
