Here are her answers to our probing questions:
Q: Is this your first show at Live Arts Theatre?
A: It is actually my first show in Atlanta, period. I just moved here in August with my roommate, Ally (who is also in the show!), from Michigan. I’m happy that my first theatre experience down South has been with such a welcoming group of people. For me, theatre is about storytelling, and everyone working on the show seems to have a passion for telling stories and sharing them with their community, which is always really nice to see.
Q: Name two fun facts about you.
A: (1) I have been writing songs since the age of 12. I have been writing good songs worth sharing with other people since the age of 18. =P
(2) I am also a huge bookworm–I never leave the house without a book, and I have over 500 books at home. Most of them are Young Adult fiction, which I am obsessed with, clearly. 🙂
Q: What attracted you to audition for A Christmas Carol?
A: I was attracted to it in part because it’s a classic holiday story that is told every year at Christmastime, and I thought it would be fun to finally be a part of it. What is especially appealing to me about this show is that it’s a radio play, which I have never done before. I went to one a long time ago, and I loved seeing a handful actors playing multiple different characters, and seeing how different each of their characters was from the others they played. I also thought the sound effects used were really cool, and I thought it would be exciting to learn more about how the Foley art is done.
Q: What can audiences look forward to with A Christmas Carol?
A: Talented actors, fun sound effects, hilarious 1950s radio commercials, and a few Christmas carols, all wrapped up in a classic, familiar story that everyone of all ages can connect to.
