Fresh out of high school, we are so happy to welcome Ian Chamberland to our stage! Ian will make his Live Arts debut as Victor. He is looking forward to starting college in the fall, attending Georgia Gwinnett College, but is still undecided as to his major. We took a few minutes to chat with Ian about life and the upcoming show.

So this is your Live Arts debut. How does it feel?

“This is my first show at Live Arts Theater, and also this is my first show out of high school that is not a school production. It’s new and very refreshing.”

What excites you most about the show?

“I’m very excited to be doing a musical that is very well known and one that has a very eccentric and free energy. You can really let lose and have fun which is always a bonus for any show to be in.”

Do you have a favorite song from the show yet?

“My favorite song is by far “Money” because it is so kooky and crazy and the dance to it is perfect. Also it is one of my best friend’s favorite song so she’d hate me if I said anything else.”

Tell us about your character.

” I play Victor and he is one of the Kit Kat boys. He is flirty and flashy and very sassy.”

Is he anything like you?

“I can relate to Victor because we are both proud performers who are ready to just leave it all on the stage for the sake of a show. And also, sass is something we share. Trust me.”

What can audiences look forward to with Cabaret?

“Surprises. The show is high octane drama, comedy, with performing that is subtle enough to feel intimate but wild enough to feel provocative. It is not a show that I would have ever done in high school. Expect to also be blown away by the incredibly talented people that worked tirelessly to put this show on. Everyone gave everything and it really shows.”

You can catch Ian and the rest of the talented cast of Cabaret beginning July 17. Tickets are now on sale!
