Live Arts Theatre is proud to present to our stage, Blair Varney, a fine young lady who has been acting for the last 10 years with various Metro Atlanta community Theaters. This includes working with Georgia Shakespeare, in a production of A Christmas Story. She is currently a rising sophomore at Chamblee Tucker Charter High School. She is playing the roles of Storyteller and Aphra in Children of Eden.
We at Live Arts are sure you will enjoy seeing Blair in Children of Eden! We would also like to give her credit for stringing a good deal of the beaded jewelry you will see in the show! Here are some questions she answered for us to share with you:
Q: Is this your first show at Live Arts theatre?
A: Yes, this is my first show with Live Arts!
Q: What is your dream musical role?
A: My dream musical theatre role would probably have to be any role in Hamilton, preferably one of the Schuyler Sisters if I’m being honest.
Q: How does your character compare to you?
A: I have never before been cast as someone so different from myself and I find the experience rather intriguing. For starters, I am the youngest cast member (aside from the children) and yet I am the pregnant woman! (Haha!) As I’ve never been pregnant before, it is a unique challenge to convey this aspect of my character accurately and with as much truth as possible. In addition, my character is typically played by an alto; I am a soprano. Aphra is also portrayed as a morose person and I like to think that I’m just the opposite!
You can see Blair and the rest of the talented cast of Children of Eden through July 31. Get ticket information here!
