Q: Is this your first show with Live Arts? If not, what are some of the other shows you have done with us?
A: No this is not my first show with Live Arts Theatre, in fact, I directed the first show that Live Arts produced; The Last Five Years. I have also directed Secrets every Traveler Should Know, and most recently, Cabaret. I have acted in Don’t Drink the Water and am looking forward to performing in Children of Eden.
Q: Name two fun facts about you.
- 1. I am a huge Anglophile, but I don’t care for Dr. Who. and 2. I sang for a Papal Mass, in Rome, at St Peters Basilica.
Q: What can audiences look forward to with Children of Eden and why should they come see it?
A: It is a familiar story, told in an unfamiliar way. Everyone knows the early stories of the Bible, however this interpretation is one that brings a modern sensibility to an ancient story.
Q: How does your character compare to you?
A: ((Maniacal Laughter… fighting off God complex)) I see myself in Father because he’s a big a kid at heart, and he really does want what is best for everyone, even if what he wants for everyone really isn’t the best.
Q: While Children of Eden is a Biblical show, based on the book of Genesis, It has a universal and timeless message. What does this mean to you?
A: It means that history does repeat itself but if you recognize the repitition you can change the pattern.
You can catch Michael and the rest of the talented cast of Children of Eden through July 31. Ticket information is here.
