Teresa Bayo attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and is currently a Museum Service Coordinator at the Center for Puppetry Arts. She also does props and stage management for other theatres outside of acting. Teresa has performed in a previous Live Arts Theatre production It’s A Wonderful Life and a New London theatre production of And Then There Were None. She has designed props of some of the TYA shows. She is playing Marcy in Dog Sees God.
- Q: Is this your first show with Live Arts Theatre? If not, what are some of the other shows you have done with us?
A: I was a Foley Artist and an understudy for the role of Mary in last year’s Christmas production of It’s a Wonderful Life.
- Q: Name two fun facts about you.
A: Mk… first I am a nerd! Be it Harry Potter, Disney, Anime, Video Games, Sherlock, Dr. Who I am all into.
Second I like twisted adaptations of a classic idea. For example my favorite video game is Alice: Madness Returns which is a dark take on the classic Lewis Carroll novel (the game made me want to read the novel).
- Q: What is your dream acting role?
A: I would honestly love to play Rosalind from As You Like It!!!
- Q: What attracted you to Dog Sees God?
A: I have done work with LAT in the past and I had a lot of fun, plus my college did this production my freshman year. I didn’t get a chance to participate in that production but am very excited to be a part of this one! It also doesn’t hurt that I like twisted version of classic and iconic ideas.
- Q: If you could be a comic book character, what one would you be?
A: HARLEY QUINN!!!!! Granted in the series I’m reading now when she is all on her own without the Joker holding her back!
- Q: How does your character compare to you (similarities and differences)?
A: In terms of differences I’d say she’s more snobby and desperate. More willing to do what others want to do out of fear of being uncool. I just accept that I’m a little odd and will enjoy my anime and Disney obsession.
Similarities……. We have short brown hair?
- Q: Dog Sees God is based a beloved comic strip, and we get a look of what might happens when life gets real. Why do you think this is a good way to present difficult topics?
A: Unfortunately many of these topics are still relevant today. By making the characters recognizable eases the audience into these issues. This gives one perspective of what these characters would be like if they grew up.
We at Live Arts Theatre are looking forward to seeing Teresa and the rest of the gang in Dog Sees God.
Dog Sees God runs one more weekend, November 4 and 5, 2016 at the Belfry Playhouse (downstairs at Norcross Presbyterian Church), 3324 Medlock Bridge Rd, Norcross GA
