Meet the cast of Fiorello! – Andre Eaton Jr.

We don’t know if we at Live Arts Theatre are addicted to Andrea Eaton Jr., or if he is addicted to us! Andre Eaton Jr. graduated from Georgia State University with a BIS in Theatre Performance and a BA in Creative Writing. He did quite a number of shows in college and was able to act in a show that went to Edinburgh Scotland for the Fringe Festival. He has also been an acting apprentice at the Horizon Theatre Company. Andre plays Morris Cohen, one of Fiorello‘s Office Assistants in Fiorello!

He generously shared a little more about himself with us. Let’s find out more about him:

Q: Please tell us about your theatre background.

A: Theatre was something I kind of fell into by accident. My dream was to be a lawyer, but one day I stayed after school for tutoring in Geometry. Tutoring ended up being cancelled and I had to wait for my ride anyway so I ended up going to auditions for my High School’s One Act. I got in and kept getting cast and my love for acting grew from there and completely changed my career’s trajectory.

Q: Is this your first show at Live Arts, and what other shows have you done with us?

A: This is my 6th show in a row here at Live Arts. I’ve been lucky enough to be in almost every show this season.

Q: What attracted you to audition for Fiorello!?

A: Most of the time I actively avoid auditioning for musicals. This I made a promise to push myself as an actor and to try and do more shows and roles that terrify me. Somehow, to my surprise, I ended up getting cast.

Q. What is your dream acting role?

A: That’s a really long list. Off the top of my head i would say Lady Macbeth, Ken (Red), Anyone in Angels in America, Tom Collins (Rent), and Paul (Six Degrees of Separation).

Q: What Musical Would you most like to be in?

A: Rent, Rocky Horror, and Spamalot.
