Live Arts theatre is delighted to introduce a brand new (to us) actor to the Live Arts Audience! Ravi Basawa works for a large insurance company in a technology development role. His background is in Computer Science (MS) and Electrical Engineering. His theatre/performance background comes from directing and performing musical skits for conventions and conferences.
Ravi plays Floyd McDuff in Fiorello!. His character is a street-wise yet loyal police officer, who is part of the political Tammany Hall machine that has issues with Fiorello’s political movement with its emphasis on anti-corruption. Floyd becomes involved romantically with Dora, who is, interestingly, a strong supporter of Fiorello’s movement.
It has been a pleasure getting to know Ravi as we prepare Fiorello! for our audiences. Here is some more information about him that he shared with us:
Q: Is this your first show at Live Arts, and what other shows have you done with us?
A: This is my first show at Live Arts.
Q: What attracted you to audition for Fiorello?
A: Along with being a highly acclaimed Broadway Musical, Fiorello! is a true story based political intrigue with a an interesting batch of characters.

A: 1. I grew up in Australia. 2. I am in a goth rock band.
Q: What is your dream acting role?
A: At the moment , playing Floyd McDuff, the love-to-hate cop in Fiorello!
