Meet the cast of Stealing Home- Bethany Bing

IMG_0345-2Bethany Bing studied Theatre at Covenant College, graduating almost a year ago in March.  She has been in theatre programs since Middle school and some of her most favorite productions have been “Aysha” in Children of Eden at Live Arts Theatre, “M’Ling” in Moreau and “Ursula” in Much Ado About Nothing. Bethany has also taken an active role in Live Arts Theatre and can be found doing house manager duties or stage managing, when she is not on stage.

Bethany is playing the roles of Zelda or Joan Understudy depending on the performance! Here are some tidbits she has shared with us:

Q: Is this your first show at Live Arts, and what other shows have you done with us?

  • A: I volunteered during It’s a Wonderful Life. I was in Children of Eden, I I served as stage manager (in real life and on stage) for A Christmas Carol: The Radio Play. I also assistant directed Rumplestiltskin, our Children’s show. Be sure to keep a lookout for my name in the 2017-2018 season announcement!

Q: What attracted you to audition for Stealing Home?16640864_10210916233677293_8158269122897427066_n

A: I haven’t gotten to act in a non-musical comedy in about five years and Stealing Home sounded like a lot of fun.

Q: Name two fun facts about you?

  • A: I wrote a book when I was three, and I can sing the alphabet backwards

Q: Why should audiences come see Stealing Home?

A: This play brings together a hilarious conjunction of humor, wit, and just a smidge of mystery jumbled in with good comedy fun – and laughter is good for the soul. We all need to be able to relax and genuinely enjoy something once in a while, and Stealing Home will deliver.

Q: Compare yourself to your character.

Zelda takes time to get to know people before opening up, and when it comes down to it, she will take a stand against cruelty. As for Joan, well, we do not put up with drama or nonsense, although sometimes we wind up right in the middle of it all the same. And occasionally we have regrets when it comes to our choices in men,
