We are so pleased to welcome our stage manager Michael Harrison to the LAT family! This is Michael’s first show with Live Arts, and we are so happy to have him with us. Other local projects include directing the recent world premier of Song of Solomon at the Atlanta Fringe Festival, directing at the One Minute Play Festival at Actors Express, and Click Clack Moo at Center for Puppetry Arts. He was also once on the news wearing a Top Hat and Iron Man underoos. We caught up with Michael (we had to run), to get his take on the show.
What about the production excites you most?
“I’m really excited by the immersive concept, and how it draws in the audience and implicates them in the world of the show.”
Do you have a favorite character?
“The Emcee. I love how mysterious he is.”
What’s your favorite song from the show and why?
“Mein Herr. It combines the Weimar style with a Broadway showstopper in a really exciting way. Also it is super catchy.”
What can audiences look forward to with Cabaret?
“It combines phenomenal singing and dancing with a story that will hopefully make you think about the world around you.”
You can see Cabaret beginning on July 17. If you look really carefully, you might catch a glimpse of Michael! Tickets are available now!
