Meet the Director of a Christmas Carol – Becca Parker

BeccaParkerWe’re starting to lose count of Becca Parker’s theatre credits! She describes them as “Many many many”.  You may have last noticed her on stage during Cabaret as Rosie and we saw some familiar dancing feet in the number “If you can see her from my eyes”.  Becca holds a BM in music and Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory. Since then she has worked as Artistic Director of Live Arts theatre and has directed, done lighting design, fight choreography, sound, projection design, and music designed, both for Live Arts and other organizations.

Recent credits include Dog Sees God (Lighting design/props/fight choreography), The Spoon River Project (Director), Children of Eden (Music Director), Echos (Lighting Design, Atlanta Fringe) Hot L Baltimore (Costumes), It’s a Wonderful Life (Director), ReEntry (Lighting, Sound, and Projection design), Cabaret (Rosie/Lighting Design/fight choreography), Song of Solomon (Original Cast Member, Atlanta Fringe), Complete Works of Shakespeare (Director/Fight Choreography), Dorothy Meets Alice (Music Director), Dracula (Director/Fight Choreography)

Becca Parker is happily directing Live Arts production of A Christmas Carol, The Radio Show!  Here are some questions she answered for us:

Q: Is this your first show at Live Arts, and what other shows have you done with us?

A: Nope! I have worked on every LAT show in some capacity.

Q: Name two fun facts about you?

A: 1. I get to see a crazy amount of theatre on a yearly basis. 2. I talk and text and sometimes even Facebook in my sleep.

Q: Why should audiences come see A Christmas Carol?

A: It’s a classic story presented in a whole new way. I love working with Foley sound effects!

christmas_wreath_310549Q: What excites you the most about A Christmas Carol?

A: I’m looking forward to really taking our audiences back in time, if only for a few hours.
I LOVE the holidays! And since my year was so busy, my three themed trees never made it down last year (I gave up around Memorial Day), so I’m already in the spirit. Working on the Christmas show is so much fun, as it’s really our gift to the community. I’m looking forward to sharing the spirit of the season with everyone.

This is a show you won’t want to miss. We’ve got amazing actors, and our Radio Plays are very popular!  Oh, and by the way, you might want to join our email list for special notices and surprises. Learn more about the show and purchase tickets here.  You will want to get those tickets as soon as possible, we are already approaching our second weekend.
