By: William Shakespeare
Directed by: Andre Eaton* and Becca Parker*
Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare’s bloodiest tragedy, set right in the midst of a tumultuous election campaign between two opposing brothers, Saturninus and Bassianus. Set in Modern day Washington DC, this epic revenge tragedy focuses on Titus Andronicus, a general returning home with Tamora, Queen of the Goths and her children as prisoners of war. His sacrifice of her first-born child sets into motion a horrific tale of politics, revenge, mutilation, and murder that will leave no character unscathed.
The LAT production of Titus Andronicus is recommended for an audience ages: 18+ due to physical and sexual violence, infrequent adult language, and adult topics.
Run time: 3 hours 15 minutes with one 15 minute intermission.
