We are so pleased to be welcoming Ilene Miller (Lulu) back to the Live Arts stage. A baker and a huge movie geek, Ilene made her Live Arts debut earlier this season in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged. We caught up with Ilene to talk chocolate, Cabaret, and life.
What about Cabaret excites you the most?
“This is the first musical I have done since high school, both exciting and nerve wracking.”
Do you have a favorite song from the show yet?
” I love Willkommen, it’s catchy and fun.”
So you are playing Lulu. How is she like (or unlike) you?
“She will channel my inner burlesque star.”
What do audiences have to look forward to with Cabaret?
“All of the sexy.”
You also said earlier that you are a baker and huge movie geek. Do you have any favorites?
“There are these brownies that I make that have been deemed the crack brownies by my friends, always a fave. I can’t pick a favorite movie, so I’ll give a few-Princess Bride, The Devil’s Backbone, Empire Strikes Back.”
