Meet the cast of Dog Sees God- Jennifer Studnicki

dsc_0046Jennifer Studnicki attended Miami University for Theatre and Spanish Language where she acted in Macbeth, Rocky Horror, and Angels In America. She also apprenticed at the Horizon theatre. The shows she participated in include Nothing But Cheese, Team Christa, The Yellow Wallpaper: The Musical. She is playing Tricia in Dog Sees God.

Let’s get to know a little more about her through her answers to our probing questions:

Q: Is this your first show with Live Arts Theatre?

A: Yes this is my first show with Live Arts!

Q: Name two fun facts about you:

A:  I sleep with my eyes open and I can speak Spanish.

Q: What is your dream acting role?

A:  My dream acting role is anything Allison Janney has played or will ever consider playing.

Q: What attracted you to Dog Sees God?

A: I stage managed a production of Dog Sees God in college and have been dying to be in it since!

Q: If you could be a comic book character, what one would you be?

A: I would want to be Spiderman!

Q: How does your character compare to you?

A:  Tricia and I are very different. While Tricia likes to be the center of attention, I much prefer to be on the sidelines. The only similarity we have is that both pass out way too early at the party.

Q. Dog Sees God is based a beloved comic strip, and we get a look of what might happens when life gets real. Why do you think this is a good way to present difficult topics?

A: I think in comic strips, we only see bits and pieces of the characters lives. To get the whole story, you need to see beyond the page. By putting the story in the context of the Peanuts, the audience already has a base knowledge of the characters. In the play, we build off of what they already know and use it to teach valuable life lessons. I think it makes it easier to discuss difficult topics if you already have a sense of the situations.

Dog Sees God continues tonight and runs through November 5, 2016 at Belfry Playhouse (downstairs at Norcross Presbyterian Church) 3324 Medlock Bridge Rd in Norcross.
