It’s time for our kids show!! Last year we did an edgy show speaking to the tough issues children have to deal with (High School Confidential). This year we are giving elementary and middle school children equal time with the light-hearted telling of Rumplestiltskin.
Andre Eaton Jr. is one of two adult teaching artists (actors/role models) in this show and we are glad to have him. This is Mr. Eaton’s 3rd show (in a row) with Live Arts Theatre. Previously, he was in Spoon River Project, and A Christmas Carol, the radio Play, at Live Arts Theatre. He has proven to be a talented singer, a rich-voiced orator, and he has demonstrated a wonderful spirit that makes us glad to keep him on our stage.
Pre Live Arts Theatre, Andre Eaton Jr. studied theatre at Georgia State University, where some of his favorite roles were Ken Gorman in Rumors, Betty/Edward in Cloud Nine, Ophelia in Hamlet, and Douglas Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He also apprenticed at Horizon Theatre.
Andre is playing Warren (the storyteller) in this Theatre-in-the-trunk adaptation of Rumplestiltskin. Here’s what Andre had to say about our show:
Q: Why did you audition for Rumplestiltskin?
A: I have never done a kids show before and I thought it would be
something fun to do.
Q: Why should audiences come to see the show?
A: They should come see Rumplestiltskin because it’s a fun take on an old children’s story. I think it will be really funny and entertaining.
Q: What can the audiences look forward to in this show?
A: It is a high energy show that’s funny and entertaining, with talented kids
Q: What are some similarities between you and your character?
A: We both like to tell stories.
